Film Exhibition (Part 2)

Hello!

After researching about film exhibition, I have gathered statistical data about the changes in cinema attendance, screening, age and gender profiles of the audience annually (starting from 2003). This research will help me with our chosen target audience.

Firstly is the cinema admissions in the UK and how it fluctuates over the years from 2003. According to the UK Cinema Association, the number of cinema admissions varied from an estimate of 160m to 170m from 2003 to 2016 with 2006 having the least amount of admissions. However, it has not exceeded (estimated) 170m and has not fallen below 160m showing the amount of admission has remained consistent.

Below is a bar chart from statista which shows the changing of age distribution cinema admissions from 2003. There is distinct clarity that young adults from 15-24 have dominated the cinema admission throughout the year especially in the year 2011. From 2003 to 2007, it shows a clear data that ages 45 and above would see the cinema, however, from 2008 onwards, it has been divided into 45-54-year-olds and 55 and above showing the various increasing of this age group. The age group of 7-14 stayed fairly constant with an increase in the year 2004 and 2009.

Lastly is the gender distribution in cinema admission (as of 2014). Similar to the age distribution, 15-24-year-olds dominated the cinema admission and within this 15% were female and 13% were male. Comparing the ratio of male to female in each age group shows that there is only a significant difference of 1-2% making females more than
